Sharad Goyal

As a radiation oncologist, my current clinical and research activities utilize my training to devise novel approaches to cancer treatment. I frequently see patients with breast, brain, and gastrointestinal malignancies; as a clinical researcher, I am inspired by the potential of emerging cancer therapies and technologies to treat these patients. Through my efforts, I have published over 140 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters (h-index 34), and developed a strong reputation within the oncology community, serving on editorial boards and national committees related to imaging, health policy, and guidelines in oncology. My research efforts have been supported by the National Institutes of Health / National Cancer Institute, American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Lung Association, and the Radiological Society of North America.  I also play a significant leadership role and serve as Division Chief of Radiation Oncology at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Medical Faculty Associates, and serve as Interim Associate Center Director of Clinical Investigations for the George Washington University Cancer Center.
