Our lab studies the bioeffects of non-ionizing energy with cells/tissue, and aims to harness these effects to develop systems and methods for minimally-invasive image-guided therapy. We are also interested in studying the role of energy-based image-guided interventions as part of multi-modality therapeutic strategies. We employ an approach integrating: computational modeling, tissue biophysical property characterization, device design, benchtop assessment, biomedical imaging, pre-clinical in vivo studies, and translation to the clinical setting. We conduct this research in close collaboration with other engineers/basic scientists, clinicians, and colleagues from industry.
