Shuyue Guan

Dr. Shuyue Guan is currently a Visiting Scientist within the Division of Imaging, Diagnostics, and Software Reliability (DIDSR) at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in Silver Spring, Maryland. Recent research focuses on synthetic data generation and evaluation, image segmentation analysis, and foundation models. Dr. Guan completed a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from George Washington University (GWU), advised by Dr. Murray H. Loew. Primary research interests are image processing, machine learning, deep learning, and their applications in medical imaging. Previous studies include data separability measures, learnability for deep learning models (transparent deep learning), deep learning applications on medical images, hyperspectral images-based cardiac ablation lesion detection, and non-destructive testing of wood composite panel internal defects.
