SEAS congratulates Dr. Jason Zara on being named the recipient of GW’s 2020 Oscar and Shoshana Trachtenberg Prize for Teaching Excellence. The award, which was established in 1990 by President Emeritus Stephen Joel Trachtenberg in memory of his parents, honors outstanding undergraduate teaching.
The university announced the award on April 21, and will honor Dr. Zara and the winners of other faculty awards at a later date, as the annual Faculty Honors Ceremony has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dr. Zara has also been honored for his teaching by SEAS. He is a past recipient of both the SEAS Outstanding Junior Teacher Award and the SEAS Outstanding Distinguished Teacher Award.
