Speakers included Dr. William Bentley (University of Maryland), Dr. Michael Buschmann (George Mason University), Dr. Rong Li (GW School of Medicine and Health Sciences), Dr. Rohan Fernandes (GW Cancer Center), Dr. Arnaud Martin (GW Columbian College of Arts and Sciences), and the BME department's own new assistant professor, Dr. Luyao Lu. Current doctoral student Scott Downen moderated the career panel, whose members included Molly Delaney (US Patent and Trademark Office, and BME alumna), Dr. Kara Garrott (Boston Scientific, and BME alumna), Jeffrey Gibbs (Hyman, Phelps, & McNamara, PC), Dr. Allan Guan (Food and Drug Administration, and BME alumnus), Shirali Nigam (Janelia Farms intern, and BME undergraduate student), and Jordan Williams (Leidos, and BME graduate student). The BME department thanks all who attended the event and congratulates the 21 current BME students who presented their research during the poster and networking session. The department also thanks SEAS alumnus and donor David Wang (BS ‘51) for his support of this program!
